... .. based in Elora, Ontario, about an hour and a bit from Toronto you will find my studio in the fabulously inspiring home of the Elora Centre for the Arts. Wind your way threw the halls and stairs to the second floor where you will be most likely greeted by my four legged side kick named Lilly ... if you bring her treats you will have a friend for life ! ... trust me .... she will track you down on the street cause she never forgets anyone she loves ! .. i hope you enjoy your stay on the dog blog, leave a little note and let me know your here, ask questions, tell me your dog love . As we head to new locations I hope to be able to have a few dog hook ups and some fun photographing, helping, inspiring, laughing, enjoying ones company ... … i guess the last time i blogged i was having a bit of a bad day … or a bit confused about the spelling of photographer ! … haha … i never was good at spelling in fact i got a -8 on a spelling exam one time … hello Mrs. Post if your out there … sadly it never got any better !

… meet sally … the newest guest at the Visakaly Hilton, home for wayward animals !! …
… sally has a story … on sunday sally came wondering up our drive way, scared and confused, as soon as we opened the door and called her, hoping to check for tags to help her find her home .. she ran off …
.. we spent the day trying to coax her out of the bush up the road from our house with no luck … all the time thinking that someone was missing her and heartbroken …
.. every car that came up the road, sally would run out to, hoping it was her family … we were so afraid of her getting hit, and that poor family that was missing her, .. she has a collar on .. but no tags …
… we follow her to were she kept going back into the bush .. and there in the ditch was a raw hide bone, a chewy, some meat bones and a bagel … and now we are heart broken .. how can anyone do this to an animal … I cannot begin to understand someone like that, how do they cope in society, do they wonder what happened to her … it makes me so sad ! ….
.. so here she is … getting lots of love, and a safe home, and a very comfortable rest of her life …
.. we are beyond excited to announce that we will be photographing at all the Bark & Fitz locations across Canada !! … we are having so much fun putting plans together … this could totally fulfill my need to be a hippie … i have always wished i was !! .. i could see myself in a lime green westvalia with a peace sign painted on the side and heading out for the summer road trip 2008 ! … but instead it will be my red jeep with an apple sticker on the back window!! … its still groovy man !

oh my gosh we are back from the cottage … completely exhausted in a good way .. lots of exercise … lilly has already assumed the position on her couch with all fours in the air… i didn’t think it was possible for her to ever tire but yes it happened last night when she chose not to go for a bike ride !
.. any how loads and loads of laundry to get done ! … I will catch up tomorrow .. in the meantime here is a quick one of miss lilly …
… miss liily came to live with us in December of 04 … she was a rescue from the amazing Kitchener Waterloo humane society … as we walked down the hall where all the dogs had their own little home we get to the end and this little black face looks at my kiddo and puts her paw on the glass and that was that we are taking her home !!! … she was a mommy there with 9 pups !! … she moved in and she fit our lives and we fit hers, hers being the part where she requires an enormous amount of attention ! … if she wants a hug … you best hug cause the pout and the huge sighs are really rather pathetic !!
.. writing for me is soooo hard, i have these crazy fantastic friends who write like it’s as easy as breathing ! … becoming a better writer is on my list of things to do in my life .. i will share more of that list later … i don’t want to scare you off so soon on the journey ! … so a little about me … i have been with my husband, my best friend, my soul mate for 18 years, married 16, so that puts me at 30 something !! .. age is just a number, if i still feel like I’m 25 why change things right ! i have two of the craziest, funniest, loving kids .. my baby being only months away from being a teenager and my oldest heading to high school in September !!! and of course there is Lilly … a post dedicated to just lilly coming soon … we live in the country so we get to enjoy dirt biking and snowmobiling right out the back door ! .. we love to go to the cottage and kick back with a bottle of wine and great ontario micro brewed beer !!! enjoy nature, and spend time with family .. i grew up on a farm so I am a country girl at heart .. i really like the simple things in life, and i am sure that is reflective in my style of photography, its all about the little things that make us happy and content. I feel like i have come full circle with my photography, i started out photographing the dog and the cats and here i am back at it … i think if we look back into our childhood we can learn so much about who we are and maybe a few things that are missing in our lives, … what did you want to do when you where a kid?
